Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite fluke tester Have many fluke meters but this little guy is my favorite. I use it everyday whether at work or home. May only last a year or two but I always keep a bench stock supply of the LVD2. Always in my pocket for testing and using the flashlight. When it fails to detect voltage I still keep them around for the flashlight and label it "flashlight only". Please don't discontinue!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Would really benifit from an upgrade in materials Active Duty, I've owned several of these since 2013, and used them both on 4-deployments and during availability periods. Primarily used them for trouble calls and when responding to casualties. I SIMPLY USED THIS AS A LIVE OR NOT LIVE CHECKER. As far as the blue and red lights go, they might as mean the same thing, so just assume the equipment is live until you can actually ivv with a meter. For the good: it has never lied to me, I have never been shocked after this little guy told me it was safe. That said I have gotten a few false positives; its broad range means it could pickup on eddy currents or induced voltage from a vent fan spinning and give you the indication that the ckt is live. For the bad: they are overly fragile in a few key places. The main place being the pushbutton end that comes off so you can replace the battery; there is an extention of that back that snaps into the pocket clip on the main body. That extention has snapper off of every single o e of these I own in the first few weeks of owning them. With my current one I actually have to out put the back end back on because the battery spring is pushing it off.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed expensive flashlight Turned into an expensive flashlight Always worked intermittently to the point where I needed to turn off an on a few times to stay on. Started to use mostly as a flash light and went to use my $18 Klein as it was more reliable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did you check that door for heat? Best non contact tester on the market. Never fails to keep me out of danger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I have purchased 5 of these. I love this idiot stick. I have lost them in attics and crawlspaces. Broke the clip off of one and lost the power button. Wish I could buy a replacement power button, but this is my favorite tool. I have it in my pocket every day.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Low specificity I liked the dual range idea, and the flashlight was a nice addition, but.... its not as accurate as my $15 one. At any angle and distance its as likely to show neutral, ground or hot as being energized (and no, it isn't). Maybe mine is just a lemon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only one i trust my life with. bought several of these over the years. Read the negative reviews they are ridiculous. you don't like the light buy a different model they make 3...... want the whole tip to glow buy a different model they image shows the light. Buzzers are annoying an who could hear them in a factory anyways. love the blue to red transition as you approach a wire makes identifying the hot wire in a bunch easier. the one real criticism is the battery light button. the first one i had was perfect the replacement when it went missing the button stuck on. if you flicked it i could get it to shut off was never really a big deal enough where i wanted to have it replaced. I tested many many models before selecting this be sure there is no calibration wheel. if there is you can make it go off or not go off at almost any voltage. how useful is that? if i have to go get my meter anyways..... why even have it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Kinda shoddy 1. There's no sound associated with the light, so it's difficult in bright rooms or awkward areas. 2. Mine only works intermittently now, and it's less than two years old.
