Product overview: Fluke CNX™ 3000 Wireless Multimeter

Work Faster, Safer and Easier with CNX Wireless Test Tools

Fluke's CNX Wireless Test Tools put tools, not your body, near live electrical panels. It's simple. Connect the remote modules, whether they are voltage modules, current clamps, flexible current loops or thermometers, and read the results on the CNX 3000 Wireless Multimeter from a safe distance. You can display the meter measurement, plus readings from up to 3 wireless modules.

Don't Get Bogged Down While Isolating Intermittent Electrical Faults

Timing is everything when trying to find an intermittent problem and the hard part is, it doesn't always show up when you have your meter connected. We've solved that problem with CNX – leave your CNX remote modules connected to log measurements and walk away to address other issues. You can then download the data for further analysis.

Work Safely Near Electrical Panels While Wearing Less PPE

Personal protective equipment (PPE) can save your life, but it's bulky, hot and hard to work in. With CNX, there's no need to work in front of live open panels or moving/hazardous machinery.

Picture having the ability to access live readings without being exposed to the live panel. It's easy. Just deenergize the cabinet, open the panel while wearing PPE and connect your CNX modules. Close the cabinet, reenergize and let the CNX multimeter work, reducing the risk of arc flash by separating yourself from hazardous measurement situations.

Testing 3-Phase is Now Faster and Cheaper

When your cabinet is deenergized, attach a CNX current clamp to each phase. Close, reenergize and start taking readings. What used to take hours and use costly equipment can be done in minutes with an affordable CNX wireless system.

Take 3-Phase Measurements in 1/3 the Time. Add your laptop and go from logging to analysis and diagnosis

You can solve problems faster by seeing live measurements from multiple test points on a single screen. With a CNX wireless test tool, you can:

  • Take 3-phase measurements in 1/3 the time
  • Add your laptop and go from logging to analysis and diagnosis
  • Record over time using the CNX wireless modules and monitor circuit load changes for an hour, a shift or a week
  • Use the CNX wireless USB adapter to collect logged data from remote modules by walking past a working module and downloading logged data
  • Perform for analysis with your PC and the CNX wireless test tool software. View data or graphs to see problems easily on the computer display

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointment with the Fluke CNX sw3000 software While the modules (CNX 3000, CNX t3000, etc) are great, the software to view the Measurements from up to 10 such modules using the USB stick and software version FlukeCNX_SW3000_SEInstall_10017 is very limited with the display of all values simultaneously, but one graph at a time. One would expect that the software would make it possible to collect live data from all 10 modules (including the DMM configured as slaves) simultaneously for a measurement session (let us say every seconds for an hour for example), and then to be able to store the data as 10 columns in a CSV file in order to analyse such data using Excell. Such data would be measured silultaneously which is usefull in a lab. Such a function would allow for a multiple wireless synchroneous datalogger. It is believed that the modules do not need any change. Only the software is missing this basic feature for a proper datalogging lab use. Otherwise, the products (modules and DMM) look good. configuration is simple. The products seem adapted for industrial work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great meter but has so much more potential. I have been using the meter for over 6 months now. We are highly restricted with working with live electricity and using the meter and receivers helps with troubleshooting equipment without having to have the panels open. Using live view on the computer has also been a great help with tracking troublesome problems that you would usually need an analog meter to see the problem. Also with the meter and live view both being able to watch what happens between two separate data points with real time relations between them helps out with finding delay problems and problems with differential inputs.  The negatives are that sometimes getting the modules to connect can be a bit of a pain and have a long delay so you don't know if it failed or just hasn't found it yet. You only have a choice of AC voltage, AC current, and temperature probes that you can connect. If they had DC voltage and DC current modules and/or the Main meter had logging capabilities this Meter would get an A+ even with the weak connection quality.  Overall this meter is great for improving the safety aspect when troubleshooting equipment. When testing high horse or medium voltage drives being able to do so from a distance with the cabinets closed alone makes this a product worth having.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good concept, needs some additional help with the manuals This unit does everything it states, and the remote location capabilities makes it a valuable tool when working in power-buss panels that cannot have hand/eye access while powered (cabinet doors need to be closed..) The software instructions are not as clear as they should be, as it took several atempts to "bind" the two modules and retain them in the meter. I found the range a little bit limited, as wooden walls, steel-bulkheads, etc, seem to affect the range (I found only 25-30-feet within a standard structure-wall building.) The software is also only Windows 7, and as I installed it on an XP platform, it worked- but as soon as I started the program and clicked on the search for modules, it re-booted my desktop (twice.) I'll reinstall the software on my Windows 7 laptop and hopefully it will solve this issue. My advice/opinion is that there are still many XP systems running out there, and the software should have some support for older OS software. My laptops on the bench are all XP (many older test equipment software have not upgraded to Windows 7 or higher...)
