Product overview: Fluke VT04A visual IR thermometer
Detect issues instantly with the Fluke VT04A Visual IR Thermometer
The Fluke VT04A Visual IR Thermometer is designed to help you see it all. You can see issues in context by blending the infrared heat map with a visual image. You can easily identify the exact location of the potential issue by blending the two at 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% infrared with one button. View aligned images from as close as 15 cm (6 in) in NEAR mode or from a distance in FAR mode.
The VT04 also helps you take accurate temperature readings without taking your eyes off the screen. Fill the center box with your target and rest assured you're measuring the target and not the background.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mtn Ranch from Useful and affordable tool for the Fire Department I bought several of the VT04's for our rural volunteer fire to carry on their trucks as an alternative to the $$$$ thermal cameras that the "big city" fire departments use. The VT04 allows us to look for hot spots inside a wall when we go out on a "smoke check" call. The alternative is to start ripping open the wall to look for a smoldering fire and that gets very expensive very quickly.
They are also great for looking for flue fires, smoldering spots in dark attics, hot connections in outlets and electrical panels, etc.
The VT04 allows us to confirm that a fire is truly out before we leave the incident thus avoiding callbacks, liability, and embarrassment. The recording feature enables us to keep a record of what we found at an incident.
Unlike the big bucks cameras, the VT04 is inexpensive enough that we can carry one on each engine thus avoiding the delay of having to call for the expensive camera to be brought out to the incident. The design is simple enough to be operated by any firefighter with minimal training and while wearing heavy structure gloves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Michael Del Greco from Great camera for its price point I own a MUCH larger Flue thermal imaging camera that is just too big and too bulky to carry around. This is easy to carry, light and does its job without any problems at all. I recommend it to anyone. I own a New Jersey home inspection company and think this is a great product for a home inspector to have

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tony B from VT04 I bought this over a year ago and it has been a valuable asset in the diagnostic area of my profession. I work in the amusement industry and deal with electric motors, hydraulics, gearboxes and electrical circuits. It's better than a non contact lazer thermometer because you can visually see the problem area and have a visual record. The software is the best and gives you professional reports.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Maintenance Tony from Good tech investment I've been using my VT04 for more than a year. It has helped me as a maintenance tech find a variety of problems I was able schedule time to fix before they became more serious. Examples include loose wiring on vfds and in electrical panels, over loaded circuit breakers, loose insulation blocks on large metal tempering ovens and at least one case where a hydraulic valve was leaking by causing excessive heat on an injection molder. I check fluke website and youtube to find new ways of using it to help me do my job. I find it a valuable addition to my toolbox.
